Daily Minyan – June 5, 2009
Ryan Braun is currently leading all NL outfielder
outfielders in the voting for the All-Star game in St.
Louis. Vote for him, Ian, and Youk early and often!
Let’s hope that some of our guys had All-Star performances!
Brad Ausmus, C – Los Angeles Dodgers
Brad didn’t play in the Dodgers loss to the Phillies.
Ryan Braun, OF, 3B – Milwaukee Brewers
Ryan went 2-for-4, hit his 11th double and scored a run in
the Brewers loss to the Marlins. Ryan raised his average
to .316 and earned a Chai 5.
Craig Breslow, P – Oakland A’s
Craig didn’t pitch in the A’s shut out of the White
Sox.
Scott Feldman, P – Texas Rangers
Scott earned himself a pastrami sandwich at
Katz’s Deli for his performance against the
Yankees! Come, sit, eat!!!
John Grabow, P, Pittsburgh Pirates
John didn’t pitch in the Pirates win over the
Mets.
Gabe Kapler, OF – Tampa Bay Rays
Gabe didn’t play in the Rays win over the
Royals. That means his average is still
.176, which is way below the Mendoza
Line.
Ian Kinsler, 2B – Texas Rangers
Ian went 1-for-4, hitting his 14th homer of
the year, a solo shot, walked and
scored 2 runs in the Rangers loss to the
Yankees. His average remained at .282.
Jason Marquis, P – Colorado Rockies
Jason is probably looking at video of his victories this year in
an effort to get back on track after taking the loss in
Wednesday’s start against the Astros,
Scott Schoeneweis, P – Arizona Diamondbacks
Scott is currently dealing with the unexpected loss of his wife. My prayers are with him.
Kevin Youkilis, 1B, 3B – Boston Red Sox
Youk went 0-for-1, but drew a bases loaded
walk in the 3rd inning and came around to
score in the Red Sox win over the Tigers.
Boston scored all 6 of their runs during that
inning. His average fell to .362.
Youk, who left Wednesday’s game with a
bruised ankle after a collision at first, came out
in the fourth inning with tightness in his right
calf. The team said the move was strictly
precautionary.
Macher (Big Shot) of the Day – Ian Kinsler
